This year’s Fall Classic features a compelling matchup: the Toronto Blue Jays – making their first World Series appearance since 1993 – against the defending champs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are looking to become the first MLB team to win back-to-back titles since the New York Yankees in 1999-2000.
Here’s a dive into what to watch, the strengths and weaknesses of both clubs, key storylines, and how this series could play out.
• The Blue Jays finished with a slightly better regular-season record (94-68) than the Dodgers (93-69), giving Toronto home-field for Games 1 & 2 (and, if necessary, Games 6 & 7) at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Then it shifts to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for Games 3-5 (if needed).
• The series opens on Friday, October 24
