The Center for Atmospheric, Oceanographic, and Seismic Studies (Cenaos) has reported a significant drop in rainfall across Honduras, signaling a shift to warmer, drier conditions in the coming days.
Meteorologist Víctor Ortega told TSi’s Hoy Mismo newscast that the decrease in precipitation has allowed authorities to gradually deactivate alerts in vulnerable areas, including municipalities along the Ulúa River and parts of the country’s south.

Ortega noted that much of Honduras can expect intermittent sunshine, dry conditions, and comfortable temperatures through the week. However, he cautioned that the western and southern regions may still see moderate showers typical of the rainy season, though less intense than in recent weeks.
Along the Caribbean coast, the forecast remains favorable, with warm temperatures and partly cloudy skies expected to persist into the weekend. This outlook, Ortega emphasized, is especially positive for tourism during the Semana Morazánica holiday, when many families travel within the country.
“The conditions seem ideal for people to visit the Caribbean coast,” Ortega said, pointing to destinations such as Puerto Cortés, Tela, La Ceiba, Roatan, Utila, Guanaja, and Trujillo as enjoying particularly good weather for holiday travel.
